What information we collect

Information you give us directly. When you contact us through this website, by email or by phone, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, property address and any other information you choose to provide about your enquiry or project.

Information we collect in the course of our work. If you engage us, we may collect further information necessary to carry out surveying services, including property details, title information, and correspondence with you and other parties involved in your project.

Information collected automatically. When you visit this website, our hosting provider and analytics tools may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and time spent on the site. This information is used to understand how the site is used and to improve it.

How we use your information

  • Our service providers, including our website host, email provider and accounting software providers
  • Anyone else, where you have authorised it, or where we are required or permitted to do so by law

We do not sell personal information.

Storage and security

We store personal information securely, in physical and electronic form, and take reasonable steps to protect it against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure.

Some of our service providers may store information on servers located outside New Zealand. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable safeguards are in place.

How long we keep it

We retain personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, and to meet our professional and legal obligations. Survey records in particular may be retained long term, as they may be relevant to future work on the same property or to the wider survey record.

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

  • request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • request correction of that information if you believe it is inaccurate

To make a request, contact us at info@crsurveyors.co.nz or on 09 426 4051. We will respond within the timeframes required by the Privacy Act. We may need to verify your identity before releasing information, and in limited circumstances we may decline a request, in which case we will tell you why.
